Foundation Stage (FS1 & FS2)

The Early Years Foundation Stage at Muscat International School by Amity provides a strong and nurturing foundation for children’s learning and development. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, our curriculum supports children across seven key areas of learning, ensuring balanced academic, physical, social and emotional growth.

Learning is play-based and child-centred, encouraging curiosity, exploration and independent thinking while being carefully tailored to each child’s individual needs.

Learning Approach

Children develop essential early skills through structured play, guided activities and purposeful interactions. Alongside the core EYFS curriculum, students benefit from specialist lessons in Arabic, Physical Education and swimming, and are introduced to early phonics through the See, Say, Write programme.

Our nurturing environment places a strong emphasis on developing social skills, confidence and a genuine love of learning.

Assessment & Progress

Assessment in the Foundation Stage is ongoing and observation-based. Teachers regularly monitor progress through structured observations and learning evidence, ensuring each child is supported and challenged appropriately.

This continuous approach allows us to respond to individual needs and ensure children are developing securely across all areas of learning.
